Florida athlete has options

Niceville (Fla.) athlete Alex Barnett will be making an official visit to a Division I-AA program this weekend and has been told that he could be in line for a scholarship from several Division I-A programs.
"I'm going to Charleston Southern this weekend, they offered me a full scholarship," Barnett said. "They are top in their conference and they won a championship two years ago and went 9-2 this year, so they are a good team."

Barnett, who stood out in the Florida Athletic Coaches Association North-South All-Star game in December, still claims a scholarship offer from Division I-A Florida International.
"I still have an offer from FIU and I may end up visiting there," he said.
Florida Atlantic, UAB and Stanford all have told Barnett that he is a back-up option, meaning if those schools miss on a top target, then Barnett could receive a scholarship offer late in the process.
The Blazers are recruiting Barnett as a defensive back, Charleston Southern as a running back and the other schools have told him he could play either position.
Barnett is a two-star rated prospect according to Rivals.com.
