Florida ATH getting hotter

Sebastian (Fla.) Sebastian River cornerback Earl Everett put up great numbers at the Miami NIKE camp in April, but is still flying somewhat under the radar. One SEC school has already made an impact on Everett.
"Kentucky is probably the school that is recruiting me the hardest right now," Everett said. "Their running backs coach (Ron Caragher) called me in May and told me he wants me to take my tests so they can see whether or not they can offer me. He said they liked me and wanted me to get that test taken."

The 5-foot-11, 186-pound Everett attended the Miami NIKE camp where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.52 seconds, ran a 4.19 second shuttle, posted a 33-inch vertical jump and did 16 reps on the bench press.
"Right now my top schools are Florida State, Kentucky, Miami, Florida, Tennessee, Auburn and Penn State," Everett said. "I grew up a big Florida State fan and that is really where I would want to go if I could go anywhere, but I haven't heard much from them at all really."
As a junior Everett rushed for 944 yards and 13 touchdowns in eight games. He is receiving interest as a cornerback, but has never played the position except in the spring game when he collected six tackles.
"Most schools are looking at me as a running back," Everett said. "Most of the mail I get is for that. Some schools send stuff interested in me as a cornerback or a linebacker or something, but I think I'll be either a running back or defensive back in college."
So far this summer the only camp he has attended was at the University of Miami and currently does not have plans to attend another.
"I'm really looking at any school that is interested in offering me a scholarship," Everett said. "Like anybody the chance to play early would be great, but I know that takes hard work and you have to earn that. I really want to get a good education too, that is really important."
