Florida ATH continues to add offers

Fort Meade (Fla.) athlete Larry Freeman participated in the Florida Gators’ camp this weekend and feels his stock may be on the rise after his solid performance.
“I did real well,” he said. “They had me everywhere – quarterback, wide receiver, free safety. They asked me which one I want to play, and I said it really didn’t matter, so they had me at free safety the most. They think that might be my best spot.”

Freeman (6-3, 185, 4.55) is known as an exceptional all-around athlete with the physical skills to excel on either side of the ball. He played quarterback as a junior, throwing for 1,733 yards and 13 touchdowns while rushing for 514 yards and seven scores.
But scouts’ eyes light up when they think of him lining up as a rangy wideout or safety.
He’s drawn offers from LSU, Louisville, Michigan State, Iowa State and East Carolina thus far, and believes an offer is coming from Florida.
“They talk like they’re going to offer me a scholarship now,” he said. “I hope they do because right now I’m leaning toward staying in the state if I can. I like their coaches and feel like they could get me to the next level.”
LSU appears to have an outside chance with an offer already on the table.
“I really like them,” Freeman said. “The only thing is being away from home. But it’s a great program. I may end up looking at them a little harder.”
He’s also receiving heavy interest from Syracuse, Michigan, Georgia, UConn, Rutgers, Penn State, Clemson and Iowa.
Academically, Freeman maintains a 2.8 GPA. He’s waiting for his test scores.
