Florida 2021 DE has offer from the Gators, family ties to FSU

CELEBRATION, Fla. — One of those players who impressed as he walked onto the field Sunday at the Rivals Camp Series presented by adidas was Bryce Langston. Once it was known that he is only a freshman, a member of the 2021 class, he looks that much more impressive.

The 6-foot-3, 220 pound defensive end out of Ocala (Fla.) Vangard has already picked up his first three offers and it is just the beginning for this Sunshine State talent.

IN HIS OWN WORDS: "Getting offers as a freshman is crazy," said Langston. "Big colleges coming in and offering me this early is crazy. I just did not see it coming.

"Kentucky offered me first, then FAMU and then Florida.

"I grew up liking all of the in-state schools — Florida, Florida State and Miami, so when the Gators offered, it was crazy. They were at my school and told my coach about the offer, so when my coach told me, I was excited.

"I have been watching Florida since I was little, so it is cool to have an offer. They have had a lot of great players and it is a top school. A lot of my family likes Florida.

"My uncle is Greg Carr and he played at Florida State. They were my favorite team if I had to pick one because he played there. I went to games to see him play, so I know more about Florida State than the other schools.

"Florida State has a great crowd and I really like the atmosphere there. I would call Florida State my dream school.

"Miami is another school I like because of their defense and what kind of players have played there.

"I like all of the schools in my home state, but Florida State would have to be on top because I had family play there."

RIVALS REACTION: It is early, very early for Langston, but it was not hard to see why he has three offers this early. He stands out. His size is one reason, but he is athletic and he is naturally strong. He loves the in-state schools, and it would not be a surprise if he had offers from the big three in Florida down the road. One has pulled the trigger and he will add more this spring, summer and fall.
