Florence in the spotlight

FORT WORTH, Texas - It was last February, when coach Mickey Moss said that he couldn't wait for his quarterback to show his stuff at the Elite 11.
Since then, his signal caller Nick Florence, picked up scholarship offers and made a commitment to Baylor. The 6-foot-2, 167-pounder still made his way to the Elite 11 workout at TCU this past Friday and definitely drew notice.

Florence says it's been a constant growth process.
"I feel like I've grown so much compared to last year," Florence said. "From the fall, until now. This off-season, I really worked on footwork and arm strength. I do feel that it really helps to come out here and compare myself with the top name guys.
"I know I can hang with them."
Florence said he had a chance to spend quite a bit of time with Texas Tech commit Seth Doege and Tommy Dorman along with many others.
"It was good watching them and learning what they do," Florence said. "I'm just trying to pick up my skills."
It was his late March commitment to Baylor that made the biggest news thus far. Florence says that his solid pledge hasn't changed since he made the big decision.
"One, it's just the school and knowing the coaches really well," Florence said. "I'm heading down there this weekend actually to hang out with those guys. It's close to home and there is a great opportunity for me to play there early. It's just a great opportunity for me to get in there and run that offense."
