Flemings leads the way at Strong Vincent

Erie (Pa.) Strong Vincent has a handful of prospects to watch in the 2009 recruiting class. Leading the way for Tom Cacchione's squad is 5-foot-11, 170-pound cornerback Deonte Flemings.
"He came to us as a junior last year and is a very good player," he said. "He is talented and can adjust to any position. He was our quarterback last year. The thing that sticks out about him is his speed and hips. He has great hips, good foot speed and changes direction very well.

"Plus, he's a great kid to coach. He's very nice and understands coverages."
Interest is already coming for Flemings as he holds an offer from Ohio.
"He has that and is getting interest locally from Pittsburgh and other MAC schools, Akron, Kent as well as Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State.
"My kids love Pittsburgh and like Ohio. He's looking at all of them though."
Flemings is joined by 6-foot-2, 190-pound wide receiver Robert Joyce.
"He's going to get offered," he said. "His grades are good and I believe Buffalo is very close. He'll get a few offers.
"He's a good player that could be a tight end or split end in college. He's also a team captain that can play anything. Definitely his hands stand out and he runs great routes. He's a team leader too."
Running back Darrell Brooks is another player to monitor.
"He's a 6-foot-0, 190-pounder," he said. "He runs under 11 in the 100 meter. Most schools are projecting him to be a halfback. He's a good student with a 3.0 GPA. He only got a few films out last year since we had three seniors in the backfield.
"He is probably the fastest kid in the program."
Interest is coming for Brooks.
"Schools are definitely taking an interest, we're telling Division I schools about him."
