Mike Marry is one of the top linebacker prospects from the Sunshine State. Marry, 6-3 and 215 pounds, is a three-star prospect from Largo (Fla.) High School. Last season as a junior he recorded 146 tackles, three interceptions, and four sacks. He's a player that can play on the inside or out.
"I am hustler out there and play until the whistle blows," Marry said. "I need to get faster and stay lower when I tackle."
According to Marry he has close to two dozen scholarship offers at this time. So where does he stand with the process?
"Right now I have 22 offers and I am just trying to narrow things down. I hope to do so in about a month. That's when I want to set everything up. I would like to take my official visits this season and what I don't do I will go after the season."
So far this year Marry has visited three in-state schools unofficially – Florida, South Florida and UCF.
"I visited Florida at the beginning of July. I liked it, especially the coaches and players. I love the way they are and how they work.
"I really liked the UCF campus. Those guys work hard in the off-season.
"South Florida is close to home, I love the coaches and love just about everything about the school."
West Virginia, Michigan, UCF, USF, Duke, Kentucky and Stanford are just some of the schools that have offered Marry. He carries a 3.75 grade point average and 940 SAT.
