Fla. athlete names leader

Josh Robinson is yet another secondary standout for the talented Lauderhill (Fla.) Plantation High School football team. Robinson, 5-10 and 180 pounds, stars on both sides of the ball at cornerback and wide receiver.
"Spring went real well," Robinson said. "I only played on offense and I really improved on my route running. I think I just improved in every aspect of my game and I am becoming a real offensive threat. I just need to work on ball security."

Initially, Robinson was just being recruited as a cornerback. But as coaches came through during May and saw him play on offense their tunes changed. Now, most schools like him as a receiver.
"I would prefer to play offense and I think I have some real potential there. But I just want to get on the field. Many schools have said I could possibly play both ways and that is something that is very appealing to me.
According to Robinson he now has 15 scholarship offers. Some recent one have been from Michigan, West Virginia, Minnesota, Auburn, FIU, and Troy. The Wolverines were the last to offer. South Florida was the first.
"My top five schools would be USF, UCF, Florida, Michigan, and South Carolina. They have all offered.
"I love the approach at USF. They have recruited me and recruited me hard from the get go. They have been classy. USF had a great season last year. They tell me I can contribute and help them to national title. I also like that Mike Jenkins was picked in the first round.
"I love the campus at UCF. I went there for a junior day and I fell in love with the campus. I love the environment and the coaches. Coach (George) Godsey has told me I can play on both sides of the ball.
"Florida says I could potentially play the Percy Harvin position. They like me on offense.
"Michigan also likes me as a wide receiver. They also told me I can play on any side of the ball. They love what I can do with the football. I know I will have to work hard there to try and win a position.
South Carolina likes me on both sides. They say it's up to me on whether I play offense of defense. Coach (Robert) Gillespie is really cool and we have great relationship.
"My favorite team right now is UCF because I have seen their campus. They have an edge over other schools because I have seen them."
School ends for Robinson this week. He plans on taking unofficial visits to Florida, South Carolina, USF, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, UCF, FSU, and Miami.
"I plan on taking my official visits to out of state schools. If I have a top school that's in-state then I may take a (official) visit there when the time comes.
"Academics, location, scheme, coaching staff, and playing time are important to me. Actually, I am looking at everything and I would like to play on both sides of the ball."
Robinson plays alongside Brandon McGee and Vlad Emilien, two other outstanding prospects.
"It's great. I played with Vlad last year. You know he has your back. He's a big hitter. Brandon is a just a playmaker."
