Fla. 2016 talks SEC interest

There aren't many players in the history of Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips High School to get significant playing time as a freshman, but 2016 linebacker Jonathan Pollock joined that elite club this past season, starting from Week 1 for the Panthers. Now colleges are starting to take notice.
Pollock is receiving early interest from Mississippi State, Duke and North Carolina and is scheduled to take an unofficial to Louisville later this month.

"I'm starting to get some looks," Pollock said. "I'm getting a lot of camp invites, too, so I'm looking forward to getting out and seeing some schools this offseason."
Pollock, who played varsity football at a private school as an eighth grader, said he was honored to get the chance to earn a varsity roster spot and learned a lot during his freshman season.
"I felt like I was part of a family the second I stepped in," he said. "The tradition is very rich at Dr. Phillips and I'm just working hard so I can continue to play well."
Coaches from the Bulldogs, Blue Devils and Tar Heels have all been by Dr. Phillips and Pollock said the biggest push is Mississippi State at this point.
"They're working hard on the 2016 class and they're trying to get us to all go there together," Pollock said. "… I really love what they do with the linebackers, I think they have a defense that fits me really well."
Pollock is planning on attending Mississippi State's came this summer, where he hopes he'll land his first offer.
In the meantime, he's preparing for his trip to Louisville.
"I work out with one of their running backs sometimes and he tells me all about Louisville," Pollock said. "Watching was they did against Florida, taking a business approaching and coming in and beating them, that was impressive"
