Five-star Young picks the Irish

Five-star offensive tackle Sam Young out of Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas concluded his recruitment today. The 6-foot-8, 302-pounder decided to head north to South Bend over offers from Michigan, Penn State, Southern Cal, Florida, Miami and Stanford amongst others.
"I committed to Notre Dame today because they offer me the best opportunity academically and athletically," he said. "Academics were a huge factor in my decision as Notre Dame's graduation rate is excellent.

"I also have a great relationship with John Latina. I think it's really important to have a strong relationship with your position coach."
Young is Notre Dame's 27th commitment of the season. He is rated the top player in Florida, the top offensive tackle and the No. 11 prospect in the country.
