Five-star WR Jalen Hall planning bunch of unofficial visits

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Jalen Hall is preparing to take some important unofficial visits and soon the five-star receiver should have his official trips figured out, too.

“I’m about to come out with some officials, a top five or top 10,” Hall said Friday night after Long Beach Poly lost to Mission Viejo.

“It’s finally that time. I’m trying to figure out whether I’m going to leave early or not and if I am I have to figure it out now and commit in December.”

As for upcoming trips, Hall said he’s planning to see Nebraska soon, he’s heading to LSU for the Auburn matchup in October and he might make it to Florida as well. A trip to UCLA is also in the works. He’s already been to USC numerous times.

But those are all unofficial visits, according to Hall, who has not figured out any official trips yet.

“I really don’t have any yet,” Hall said. “I still have a lot to go over with my family and make sure I’m making the right officials. Probably within the next month I’ll have some for sure.”

The question continues to be asked whether the Gators have a realistic shot at Hall especially since four-star quarterback and Long Beach Poly teammate Matt Corral is committed to Florida.

A visit to Gainesville is being worked on but no guarantees yet.

“I feel like it was a great decision for him,” Hall said.

“Everybody says I should go down there with him but like I tell you all the time what’s best for somebody else might not be best for me so I have to figure it out for myself and make sure I’ll be in a good position wherever I go. I do plan on going down there with him and talking things out with the coaches to see what kind of position I’d be in.”

USC remains a contender as well especially since the Trojans have been recruiting Hall since middle school and former Los Angeles Hawkins teammates Joseph Lewis and Greg Johnson signed there last recruiting cycle.

The five-star receiver said he’s known coach Clay Helton and position coach Tee Martin for years.

“I feel like I’m close to both of them,” Hall said. “I’ve been around them since eighth grade and my boys are up there now. They’re really on me now so the relationship is good but there is still more football to be talked out.”

Who’s recruiting Hall the hardest? The Long Beach Poly standout mentioned Ohio State, Nebraska and USC but said he’s forgetting many others as well.
