One of the more interesting recruitments heading into Wednesday’s National Signing Day is that of five-star receiver Jaime Ffrench.

The Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin standout committed to Texas in August as he loves coach Steve Sarkisian’s offense and the Longhorns have proven to be one of the best teams in the country this season.

But Ffrench also took an official visit to Florida in recent weeks and two of his teammates - five-star safety Hylton Stubbs and four-star quarterback Tramell Jones - just flipped to the Gators from Miami and Florida State, respectively.

Heading into singing day, the feeling has been that Ffrench sticks with his commitment to the Longhorns and signs with Texas.

But Florida has been Flip City recently as the Gators have gotten double-digit flips in the last few weeks as they finally have some momentum on the recruiting trail.

Rivals national recruiting director Adam Gorney asked Jason Higdon of 1standTenFlorida.com and Jason Suchomel of OrangeBloods.com to offer their takes:

HIGDON’S TAKE

“Billy Napier and the Florida Gators have found new life on the recruiting trail, flipping numerous prospects over the last two weeks from some of the top programs in America. The Gators are also working extremely hard on flipping wide receiver Jaime Ffrench.

Five Reasons Why Florida could get him: Florida is continuing to be as competitive as possible with NIL; In-state/location; DJ Lagway; Gators are the flavor of the month; and

Ffrench is very close with numerous recruits headed to Gainesville.

SUCHOMEL’S TAKE

“Florida has made a strong push of late, including getting Ffrench in for an official visit and flipping a couple of his high school teammates. But Texas was able to get Ffrench back on campus for an unofficial visit following the official visit to Gainesville to settle things back down a bit. Ffrench has been in Austin for several Texas home games this year, he loves Steve Sarkisian's offense and Ffrench has publicly reaffirmed his Texas commitment despite the Florida interest so I favor him sticking with the Longhorns.”
