Ranking: No. 4 overall in 2014 Rivals100
It doesn't appear that the No. 9-ranked Tigers have a realistic shot at cracking the top four given their loss to Alabama, but if they do it'll be because of the powerful Fournette, the Heisman Trophy contender that has rushed for 1,383 yards in eight games this year. He has averaged over seven yards per carry and scored 16 touchdowns as the centerpiece of LSU's offense. The other five-stars on the squad are running back Derrius Guice (2015), receivers Malachi Dupre (2014) and Tyron Johnson (2015), offensive lineman Maea Teuhema (2015), defensive end Frank Herron (2013), defensive backs Kevin Toliver II (2015) and Tre'Davious White (2013).
CB
Vernon Hargreaves III
Florida | Tampa (Fla.) Wharton
Ranking: No. 2 overall in 2013 Rivals100
Hargreaves is tied for second in the SEC with four interceptions despite opposing quarterbacks mostly staying away from his side of the field. He has forced a fumble and added 23 tackles in the Gators' aggressive defense, helping the program clinch a spot in the conference championship game. Defensive ends Jonathan Bullard (2012) and CeCe Jefferson (2015), defensive back Jalen Tabor (2014), offensive lineman Martez Ivey (2015) and linebacker Alex Anzalone (2013) are No. 11 Florida's five other five-star prospects.
RB
Joe Mixon
Oklahoma | Oakley (Calif.) Freedom
Joe Mixon shined at the 5-Star Challenge in 2013 and now he's doing the same at #Oklahoma: https://t.co/rTMFIeGvQK https://t.co/dkvGJEWjHQ— Rivals.com (@Rivals) November 13, 2015
Ranking: No. 8 overall in 2014 Rivals100
After redshirting his first year on campus due to a legal issue stemming from an off-campus incident, Mixon has played in all nine games and started twice for the No. 12-ranked Sooners this season, amassing 519 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He has been considered a good change-of-pace complement to Samaje Perine and done well when his number has been called, averaging 6.7 yards per carry. The Sooners could use that sort of production down the stretch with big games against No. 6 Baylor, No. 15 TCU and No. 8 Oklahoma State remaining.
DE
Malik McDowell
Michigan State | Southfield, Mich.
Ranking: No. 26 overall in 2014 Rivals100
The only five-star prospect on the No. 13 Spartans' roster, McDowell has filled the stat sheet with 27 total tackles -- including six for a loss and three sacks -- five quarterback hurries and a forced fumble. Michigan State has an outside shot at the playoff with Ohio State still on its schedule, plus a potential Big Ten championship game, so McDowell and Co. certainly have plenty to play for despite their heartbreaking loss at Nebraska last week.
