Five-star Tracker: Quarterbacks

Rank: No. 7 overall in 2014 Rivals100
Performance: The sophomore was intercepted three times last week in a crucial loss against Alabama, but has otherwise had a solid sophomore campaign while trying to hold off the more mobile Kyler Murray. Allen ranks third in the SEC with 1,537 passing yards and second with 14 touchdowns, and appears to be on track to get a lot of NFL buzz following his junior season.
QB
Deshaun Watson
Clemson | Gainesville, Ga.
Rank: No. 31 overall in 2014 Rivals100
Performance: Through six games, Watson has already matched the 14 touchdowns he threw as a freshman last year, so his progression as a college quarterback is quite evident. The former No. 1-rated dual-threat prospect not only has the playmaking ability to help the Tigers with his legs, he has proven to be a capable passer as well, torching Boston College for 420 passing yards and three touchdowns last week.
QB
Max Browne
USC | Sammamish (Wash.) Skyline
Rank: No. 7 overall in 2013 Rivals100
Performance: The redshirt sophomore is still backing up Cody Kessler, but has reportedly looked very impressive in practices and should be considered the favorite to lead a talented Trojans roster next year. For what it's worth, he has fared well in garbage time, amassing 113 yards on 12 pass attempts.
QB
Christian Hackenberg
Penn State | Fork Union (Va.) Fork Union Military Academy
Rank: No. 24 overall in 2013 Rivals100
Performance: Hackenberg has been sacked 24 times already this season, including five times by Ohio State in an ugly loss last week. He has surpassed the 200-yard mark in only two games and doesn't rank among the conference's top 10 in terms of yardage. And after an anemic 12-touchdown, 15-interception output as a sophomore last season, Hackenberg has many wondering what happened to the signal-caller that showed so much promise as a true freshman two years ago.
QB
Gunner Kiel
Cincinnati | Columbus (Ind.) East
Rank: No. 20 overall in 2012 Rivals100
Performance: The Notre Dame transfer has missed the last two games after suffering a neck injury in a loss at Memphis in late September, and reportedly was medically cleared for the previous game but didn't get the nod. In four appearances this year, Kiel has completed 63 percent of his pass attempts for 868 yards, five touchdowns and five interceptions.
