Despite a loaded and deep receiving corps, Grimes leads his team in receiving
yards with 241 in just three games. The No. 1-rated wide receiver in the 2017
class has four touchdowns and been a reliable target for Florida
quarterback commit Jake Allen. Ohio State is considered to be the heavy favorite for Grimes, though Florida State and Miami are also in the conversation.
3. QB Hunter Johnson |
Brownsburg, Ind.
No. 4 in 2017 Rivals100
There have been some down moments for the No. 1-rated quarterback in 2017,
particularly with 10 interceptions in the early going, but Johnson has already
thrown for 1,737 yards and 19 touchdowns through six games. The
Tennessee commit is also the second-leading rusher on his team with 228
yards from scrimmage.
4. CB Darnay Holmes |
Calabasas, Calif.
No. 11 in 2017 Rivals100
With opposing quarterbacks staying away from his side of the field, Holmes has
managed to impact games in other ways. He has 13 receptions for 315 receiving
yards and three touchdowns, 145 yards and two scores on punt returns, and added
10 tackles plus three pass deflections on defense. Holmes visited Arizona last weekend and was on the road quite a bit in the summer, stopping by Ohio State, Stanford and UCLA. Florida State is his most recent offer, but the Cardinal appear to hold a lead on the others.
5. DE Josh Kaindoh | Bradenton
(Fla.) IMG Academy
No. 14 in 2017 Rivals100
It might not be easy to stand out on such a talented roster, but Kaindoh has
done his part when called upon. The lengthy weakside defensive end has totaled
26 tackles and caused a fumble while helping put pressure on quarterbacks and
ball carriers. Kaindoh is open to all schools, but has mentioned Maryland, Ohio State and Penn State are early standouts in his recruitment.
