Five-star Tracker: Class of 2013 LBs

Ranking: No. 12 overall in 2013 Rivals100
Performance: Cravens was rated as a safety out of high school and arrived on
campus as one, but has since made the move to outside linebacker and thrived in
the Trojans' defensive scheme, earning All-Pac-12 first-team honors last season.
He has picked up where he left off, ranking second on the team with 45 tackles
-- including a team-best 7.5 for a loss and three sacks -- to go along with a
pair of interceptions and a forced fumble. Given what he has accomplished
already, there aren't many around the USC program expecting Cravens to be around
next season.
LB
Reuben Foster
Alabama | Auburn, Ala.
Ranking: No. 13 overall in 2013 Rivals100
Performance: The Crimson Tide asked Foster to shoulder a heavier load this fall
after the departure of some key players and he has certainly left his mark as
part of a loaded defense. He has piled up 39 total tackles -- tied for second on
the team through eight games -- to go along with a sack and five pass break ups.
Foster has garnered the spotlight and could very well be a prospect to monitor
for next spring's NFL Draft.
LB
Matthew Thomas
Florida State | Miami
(Fla.) Booker T. Washington
Ranking: No. 15 overall in 2013 Rivals100
Performance: This past summer, Thomas was ruled ineligible for the 2015 season,
which he was expected to miss at least half of anyway while rehabbing a shoulder
injury. That bit of news was the latest in what has been a tumultuous stay in
Tallahassee. Thomas received a medical redshirt as a freshman in 2013 and sat
out the first six games last year for an NCAA violation.
LB
Mike Mitchell
Texas Tech | Plano (Texas)
Prestonwood Christian Academy
Ranking: No. 26 overall in 2013 Rivals100
Performance: After redshirting as a freshman at Ohio State and sitting out
another year due to transfer rules, Mitchell has finally returned to game
action. A nagging hamstring injury has limited him a bit, though, and he only
has three tackles and a fumble recovery to his name in five games. Still,
Mitchell is back in his home state and looking to make an impact with the Red
Raiders.
LB
Alex Anzalone
Florida | Wyomissing (Pa.)
Area
Ranking: No. 28 overall in 2013 Rivals100
Performance: It hasn't been exactly the college career the former heralded
recruit or the Gators had hoped for. Anzalone has missed the last five games
after suffering a shoulder injury in Week 2, dampening what was shaping up to be
a promising junior season. The setback, of course, comes following a rather
underwhelming sophomore year in which he totaled only 14 tackles, and an
injury-riddled true freshman campaign.
