Five-star talks Oregon visit

Keisean Lucier-South had a wonderful visit to Oregon, he raved about the facilities, the coaches, how they would use him on defense, and now the Ducks have to be considered a serious contender in his recruitment.
The five-star from Orange (Calif.) Lutheran said he absolutely loved his weekend trip to Eugene. That's huge because he didn't only enjoy the facilities or the environment inside raucous Autzen Stadium. Lucier-South is on board with how Oregon's coaches would use him at outside linebacker and how they don't plan to redshirt him, something that's critical in his recruitment.

"It was a great visit," Lucier-South said. "I had a great time with the coaches. I spent time with the whole team and it's like a family over there. The facilities are just amazing. I haven't seen anything like that in my life. It was a big honor to see that and tour the whole facility.
"The game was cool, I loved it. The crowd was just crazy and everyone was hyped. Oregon really beat Stanford and that made everything better because that shows that Oregon can stop the run now and they improved."
Lucier-South, rated as the third-best outside linebacker and No. 30 in the 2015 class by Rivals.com, really hit it off with the coaches especially defensive coordinator Don Pellum and linebackers coach Erik Chinander.
He liked how they envisioned using him in the defense and that could play a huge role as Lucier-South considers all his options later in his recruitment.
"They are great coaches," Lucier-South said. "The linebacker coach is a great guy. He told me a lot of stuff on how they want to use me and they said I would probably be a 3-4 outside linebacker. I'm cool with that. I really want to play that in college.
"The defensive coordinator loved my tape and my motor and they'd put in a lot of plays for me and I could do a lot of things so that's what they told me and I really like their honesty. They don't want to redshirt me and that's huge."
Lucier-South has now taken official trips to Oregon, Oklahoma and Michigan. He said the Ducks are definitely being seriously considered along with the others.
"They're serious right now," Lucier-South said. "They're up there. They did a great job on the visit. That place fits me pretty well, the scheme fits me, it's a fast-tempo scheme.
"I'm in the Trinity League and everybody does fast tempo here so I'm used to that. Oregon is another level but Oregon really fits me well. It's not like L.A., there aren't a lot of distractions, everybody is focused on the football team so I really like that. I have a good chance to play early, I still have to work hard to get that opportunity, but I have a good chance so I really like how it looks right now."
The five-star plans to take his official visit to UCLA in late November when the Bruins host Stanford. He remains unsure of a trip to Florida and said his final visit is undetermined. It could be with the Gators or Lucier-South could visit USC, which recently returned to his list of favorites.
