Five-star talks commit date, coach changes

The recruiting world has been waiting on pins and needles to hear from Quin Blanding. The last time the class of 2014 five-star safety from Virginia Beach (Va.) Bayside talked about his recruitment he announced Florida State, Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio State, Notre Dame, West Virginia, Miami, Clemson, N.C. State and Michigan were his top ten schools, in no order.
Many coaches have made the trip to Bayside High School to check in with Blanding.

"Lately coaches from Ohio State, Virginia, North Carolina and Florida have come by the school to see me," said the 6-foot-2, 196-pound Blanding. "We just had normal conversations, none of them are really sticking out."
Florida paying Blanding a visit comes as a little bit of a surprise since the Gators aren't in his top ten. What kind of chances do the Gators have of moving into Blanding's top ten?
"At this point, anything is possible," said Blanding via text.
Blanding shared his reaction to the coaching changes to two of his top ten schools.
"The Virginia coaching changes didn't do anything to the way I'm looking at them right now," he explained. "I haven't had any contact with N.C. State lately but I'd like to talk to them soon. Any coaching change isn't really going to affect me right now."
Have any of Blanding's top schools moved into the lead already?
"Everything is still up for grabs right now. I'm standing back and enjoying this recruiting process as long as I can until that day I need to commit," Blanding said. "Right now, everything is still the same with all the schools."
Blanding has a good idea of when he wants to commit.
"I want to commit around the end of my junior year but most definitely before my senior season," he said.
Blanding has not set up any visits yet.
