Five-Star: Postcard from camp

BALTIMORE - The Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge kicked off in earnest Saturday morning at M&T Bank Stadium with drills, competitive one-on-one action and the day is far, far from over.

Working out were 104 of the top prospects in the country and the defensive line group looked especially dominant as five-stars Dexter Lawrence, the top-rated recruit in the 2016 class by Rivals.com, and Paramus (N.J.) Paramus Catholic's Rashan Gary stood out the most.
"Dexter is bigger than we saw him in Charlotte, 340 pounds and still has a great rip and inside move," Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell said.
"Rashan Gary stole the show in the early session when it came to defensive tackle because of his non-stop motor and excellent balance. I thought Gary was better than Lawrence early, but they're both obviously elite-level talents."
The offensive line had some serious standouts as well, led by five-star Texas A&M commit Gregory Little, the No. 1 offensive tackle by Rivals.com, and two interior linemen -- Florida State pledge Baveon Johnson and Michigan commit Michael Onwenu.
The skill one-on-one portion was also loaded with top performances on offense and defense. Five-star Demetris Robertson from Savannah (Ga.) Savannah Christian School looked much better at receiver than defensive back and offense is where he showed out best.
Other receivers that performed well included Clemson commit T.J. Chase, Detroit (Mich.) Martin Luther King's Donnie Corley and 2017 five-star Trevon Grimes. Many others put on a show as well.
At defensive back and linebacker, five-star LB Lyndell Wilson and four-star Devin Bush each had two interceptions. Big linebackers like Daelin Hayes, Caleb Kelly and Ben Davis especially looked impressive.
Four-star Jack Jones was one of the top cornerbacks as he covered up receivers inside and outside. Penn State commit Lavert Hill and four-star Nigel Warrior also had nice showings.
The Rivals Quarterback Challenge Finals start this afternoon followed by the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge 7on7 tournament this evening.
