"It's a big music scene and a lot of producers there," he said.
USC offered the perfect opportunity for McQuay both on and off the field. He is planning to major in music and the Trojans close proximity to the music industry of Hollywood was a big draw.
For USC they are picking up one of the top ball-hawking safeties in the 2013 class. He has tremendous range and cover ability. He can cut off the half the field and reads and diagnoses as well any defensive back.
He will have an opportunity to contribute early in the Trojans new defensive scheme following the departure of Monte Kiffin. McQuay will join a loaded secondary class featuring fellow five-stars Jalen Ramsey and Su'a Cravens to go with four-star Chris Hawkins.
The Armwood standout finished his season with 61 tackles, 12 pass break ups, five interceptions, four blocked field goals.
