Five-Star LB Taking Some Visits

Brandywine (Md.) Gwynn Park linebacker Wesley Jefferson is starting to take a look at some of his favorite schools as well as some not on his latest list.
"I was just at Virginia to watch a practice," said the 6-foot-2, 230-pounder regarded by some as the top linebacker in the country. "It was a good place. Their practice was very up-tempo and I liked that."

Jefferson knows the difference between recruiting talk and seeing things with his own two eyes.
"The coaches told me they need linebackers, but I was like, 'Let me see for myself'," he said. "I can very much see myself making an immediate impact there now. I saw for myself that they could use some young linebackers."
Jefferson is off to Maryland this weekend to watch practice and he'll also take an unofficial visit to Tennessee on Sept. 6 for the Vols home game against Middle Tennessee State.
"It's basically the same five teams for me," he said. "Maryland, Virginia, Penn State, Ohio State and Notre Dame with Miami also in there a little bit. I want to see as many places as I can before I set up my official visits."
Jefferson registered 113 solo tackles as a junior and 13 sacks. He has offers from more than 40 colleges.
