Five-Star LB Names Slight Leader

Greenwood, S.C. Ricardo Hurley is still keeping things open, but the 6-foot-3; 235-pound linebacker was able to admit who had the inside track when it comes to his recruiting.
“You could say that South Carolina has the slight edge just because they’re close to home and I feel comfortable there,” he said. “I’ve been there so much and I know coach (Charlie) Strong and coach (Todd) Fitch and the rest very well.”

However, Hurley will be taking all of his official visits and might not need one to USC.
“I have six schools on my list so one of them will be an unofficial visit,” he said. “I like South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida and Florida State the best.”
Hurley, the top-ranked inside linebacker in the country, said he would prefer to remain close to home if possible but early playing opportunities in Florida are intriguing.
“It’s not often you think you can walk into either of those schools and play right away, but that’s what it looks like,” he said. “I’ve set up visits with a few schools, but the dates might change.”
