Five-Star LB Has Five

Brandywine (Md.) Gwynn Park linebacker Wes Jefferson is going to be one busy player over the next few months. Such is life for the No. 2 inside linebacker in the country.
"We're playing games on odd days," said the 6-foot-2, 230-pounder. "We have a game this Saturday and next Wednesday. We play four games in 12 days, back to a normal life."

So to speak. After the sniper attacks in the D.C. area, playing football again brings things back to normal for the talented 'backer. Recruiting is heating up as well.
"I have two official visits set up," he said. "Miami is Dec. 13 and Maryland is Dec. 20. I need to set up the rest soon."
Jefferson continues to list Miami, Maryland, Notre Dame, Penn State and Virginia as his top five with Hawaii still in the picture.
"Miami is Miami, there's not really much to say about them since it's obvious why anyone would like them," he said. "I like Notre Dame because of their coach, he's a good guy. I haven't been there yet though so I want to see if I like it.
"Maryland is a good school, I like them a lot. Coach Friedgen is a good guy and straight forward, I like that," he continued. "Joe Paterno is another coach I like and their coaching staff, it's a great coaching staff. Penn State is a good school, it's kind of isolated, but that's okay."
Finally, Virginia rounds out his list.
"Virginia is a nice place. It's a beautiful place,a beautiful campus," he said. "There's a lot of history there. Coach Groh is a good guy, too. I think he was at my game this week."
Jefferson is having his typical great season, approaching 100 tackles and 10 sacks. Right now he doesn't have a leader.
"I'm staying open, at least publically," he laughed. "I like different things about each team and really won't know a lot until I take my visits."
