Five-star JC LB nearing decision
Garden City (Kan.) Community College linebacker Derrick Pope is closing in on a decision of where he'll play his final two years of eligibility.
"I visited Alabama way back," Pope said. "Then I visited Arkansas last weekend. Then the first of this week I went to Michigan State.

"Right now Michigan State is my favorite. Florida called the other day about maybe coming to see them. I'm headed there for this weekend (Feb. 15). Then I'll have a decision on Monday."
Pope didn't want to rule anything out until he had taken his last trip. "I want to see what Florida has to offer me. Then we'll make a decision."
