Isaac Taylor-Stuart has wanted to visit Texas A&M for a long time.

His weekend in College Station did not disappoint.

The five-star cornerback from San Diego (Calif.) Helix had an excellent time during his visit to Texas A&M this past weekend and, maybe most importantly, received an incredibly enticing message from the Aggies’ coaching staff.

“The coaches want me to play for them,” Taylor-Stuart said.

“They don’t want me to stand on the sideline and (they want me to) make an immediate impact on the team.”

That could be an interesting selling point for Taylor-Stuart, who has excelled at wide receiver this season and has proven to be one of the top cornerbacks in the country.

Playing both ways - or having an opportunity to impact the game on both sides of the ball - is something he has heard from other programs and it could be a bonus as he continues through the recruiting process.

The only other official visit the five-star has locked in so far is to Alabama and he’s still working on a date. Taylor-Stuart has also talked openly about wanting to visit LSU. USC is considered one of his frontrunners as well and some other Pac-12 schools seem right in the mix.

In September, the San Diego Helix standout released a top 12 of Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, Georgia, Oregon, Ohio State, Washington, Michigan, Illinois, USC, Texas A&M and Texas.

The Aggies have long been considered a top team but especially so after this summer when he hit it off with Texas A&M commit Leon O’Neal and some other pledges at the big-time offseason events.

Getting to College Station this past weekend was huge for Taylor-Stuart, who will continue to keep A&M high on the list even though he’s not ready to make any decisions yet.

“The A&M visit was great,” Taylor-Stuart said. “I like the players and the coaches and made great connections. Being around the game atmosphere is great even when they win or lose.”
