Montravius Adams has a warning for any offensive lineman seeking to make a name for himself at his expense during the upcoming Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge.

"He better be ready," said the nation's top-ranked defensive tackle, who added he's anxiously awaiting his own chance to shine during the three-day combine scheduled for June 22-24 at Lakewood Stadium in Atlanta.

If not?

"He's gonna look like a fool," shot back Adams, who at 6-foot-4 and 300 pounds, is used to having his own way on the football field.

No, the five-star standout from Dooly County doesn't plan on playing around.

Although fellow Georgian Robert Nkemdiche and former Peach State resident Reuben Foster are currently ranked 1-2 in Rivals' player rankings, the soft-spoken Adams is quickly gaining ground.

Not only does Rivals consider Adams the best player at his position after recently earning his coveted fifth star, but the rising senior with 25 combined sacks over his last two seasons has now jumped up all the way to No. 10 overall.

But Adams' goals are much higher than that and he hopes to use his performance in the upcoming Challenge to move up the rankings even more.

"I'm going to do the best I can do and show that I'm pretty good, too," he said. "I want to prove that a lot, just in case anybody out there still doubting me."

Based on his ever-growing list of offers, there are very few big-time college programs who think that way.

At last count, Adams boasts 19 offers, including 11 from 14 of the schools which now make up the SEC. Offers from USC, UCLA and Michigan State show that Adams has national appeal as well.

Adams won't be the only five-star performer with a Peach State connection looking to kick tail and take names at the Challenge.

Along with Foster, Dee Liner and Carl Lawson, Adams said he and his three other friends have spoken about their respective goals for the upcoming event.

"We've talked about it a little bit," Adams said. "We want to just prove that there's no offensive line that can beat us. We want to do that and just compete for each other."

The way Adams sees it, the Five-Star Challenge is the perfect venue to do just that.

With 80 of the best players from the Class of 2013 and 20 top-ranked juniors from the 2014 class scheduled to attend, Adams said there was little doubt in his mind in which camp he wanted to participate.

"I knew I should go to at least one (camp), if not more, but in my opinion this was the best one out there so I picked this one," Adams said. "This is where I wanted to be."

As the nation's No. 1 defensive tackle and as a new five-star, there will be a target on Adams' back. Coming from a small school playing against average competition, this will be a step up for him and he will face bigger and stronger linemen than he's ever faced. Can he live up to his new billing? Based on film he can, but some of the top offensive linemen, especially guard Khaliel Rodgers, want to make a name off of him.
