Five-star DB staying patient

Although he has two leaders, Geismar (La.) Dutchtown five-star junior safety Landon Collins appears to be in no great hurry to pick a college.
He still has places to go, and people to meet.

"I'm going to take some trips this summer," the 6-foot, 199-pounder told Rivals.com on Monday morning.
Thus far, Collins has visited two schools in 2011 - Alabama and LSU. Those programs also just happen to currently sit at the top of his list.
"They are the two powerhouses out of the SEC, and that's the best conference to be in," Collins said.
Here is what Collins likes about each:
Alabama - "I like how it was a quiet place to be at. The coaches were cool, and I like the campus. It's a beautiful place, and the academics really opened it up."
LSU - "I like the campus, and how close all my classes would be together. I love the coaches. They're very cool. They kept me smiling and laughing. They told me stuff about the academics, and the academics are really coming up. I could see myself getting my degree and moving on to the NFL."
How much of a lead do the Tide and Tigers have over everyone else?
"I mean, LSU and Alabama are far ahead," Collins admitted. "But I have to see what else is out there. I'm going to check other schools out. This summer, I'm going to Florida, Tennessee and Texas A&M."
During those trips, Collins will focus on football and academics. His plan as of today is to major in communications.
"I want to go into sports broadcasting," Collins said. "It's always something I've wanted to do."
