BELLFLOWER, Calif. – St. John Bosco held its college showcase on Wednesday and a bunch of top programs were represented, many from the Pac-12, as some of the best recruits in Southern California worked out.

Here is some of the latest recruiting news:

DAVIS TO NAME TOP FIVE

Five-star offensive guard Wyatt Davis is slowly making his way to a list of favorites and he should have a top five by the end of June.

The top-rated prospect at his position has been spending a lot of time at USC recently. He also took another visit to UCLA in the last couple weeks and the only official visit he has planned so far is to Alabama when it hosts Kentucky on Oct 1. Coaches from USC, UCLA and many other teams kept a close eye on him during drills on Wednesday.

There is definitely a lot of interest in the Crimson Tide and Davis called Alabama an “NFL factory” especially for offensive linemen.

Almost every major team has offered Davis, who is expected to play left tackle for Bosco in his senior season, but his list of frontrunners won’t come out for a few more weeks. Stanford, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State along with the aforementioned schools, and many others, are still in the running.

WOODBEY STILL LOOKING

Florida State has not offered 2018 four-star athlete Jaiden Woodbey yet but it would definitely be a major one because he grew up following Jalen Ramsey’s career closely. Ramsey was the fifth overall pick in last month's NFL Draft, going to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

“I’ve been following him since his junior year of high school,” Woodbey said. “I just feel like I can play like that. He gave me a reason why I have confidence to be a big defensive back.”

Woodbey, who transferred to St. John Bosco from Upland, Calif., said he would like to visit Tallahassee soon.

Along with a visit to Florida State, Woodbey also wants to get to Alabama, which has already offered.

The 2018 prospect is visiting USC this weekend, taking another trip to the school to get to know the coaches better. He said in the last few weeks there has been a lack of communication with the USC staff and he wants to get back in the mix with them.

So far, Woodbey said UCLA, Arizona and Alabama have been recruiting him the hardest.

MORE NEWS & NOTES

Three-star receiver Berkeley Holman landed his latest offer from Oregon State following a strong performance at the showcase. He knows the Beavers’ program well since Holman’s father went to Oregon and the three-star said he’s been watching that rivalry his whole life. Holman won’t have any favorites this early until he starts taking visits this summer. He’s expected to take an East Coast tour to Ivy League schools and Boston College, swing through the Midwest, hit Utah and then possibly visit schools on the West Coast. A stop in Corvallis is not out of the question now, either.

Four-star receiver Terrell Bynum, wearing Washington gloves, looked sharp all day. He has excellent speed on the outside and can also make the difficult catch. A transfer from Anaheim (Calif.) Servite, the Huskies’ commit could be in store for a big senior season.

Wide receiver Colby Bowman should have a bright future. The 2019 prospect has tremendous length as an outside receiver, he’s a smooth route runner and he has excellent hands. There were some whispers that Stanford was getting more interested throughout the day as Bowman kept making plays. Assuredly, other coaches wrote his name down as well.

Bosco should be fine across the defensive line. Three-star Jacob Callier was great off the edge at the showcase and Sal Spina has great inside moves. Spina showed off excellent speed inside and had an impressive spin move during one-on-ones. Callier, who has offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boston College and others, was unstoppable to the outside and also had a nice inside move to beat the offensive tackle.
