OL Mitch Hyatt (2015), Suwannee (Ga.) North Gwinnett
vs.
DE Terry Beckner Jr. (2015), East St. Louis, Ill.
---------
His name might not jump off the page, but by this time next year, Hyatt might be the No. 1 offensive lineman in the class of 2015. He's 6-foot-5 and 258 pounds and will only get bigger and stronger, but he's already capable of taking on and beating bigger and better defensive linemen - just ask last year's No. 1 overall player, Robert NkemdicheClick Why Hyatt has an edge: Here to view this Link., who Hyatt got the best of on the field as a sophomore last fall. If Hyatt has shown anything, it's his willingness to step up and go against the best.
-- Woody Wommack, Southeast recruiting analyst
---------
Why Beckner Jr. has an edge:
Beckner Jr. combines defensive tackle size with defensive end quickness and agility. At 6-foot-4 and 270 pounds, Beckner will have no issues matching up physically with any of the offensive linemen at the event. Technically, he is well ahead of his age -- he understands leverage, has quick hands and has second and third moves he can employ if his first move is stopped. Expect offensive linemen to have their hands full with the ultra-talented sophomore.
-- Josh Helmholdt, Midwest recruiting analyst
---------
Overall edge:
Defensive linemen usually have the edge at camps, but Hyatt is a special talent and is technically sound. While he's giving away 12 pounds to Beckner Jr., he takes on bigger opponents well because of his arm extension, patience and excellent footwork. Beckner Jr. is a beast and well-advanced when it comes to size and strength, but I think Hyatt would have the edge here, despite giving away some size.
