Last week, Tuesday to be exact, West Monroe (La.) five-star offensive tackle Cameron Robinson took to Twitter to relay his message. He was ready to announce his decision, and it would be coming on Friday.
On Wednesday, it was decided he would push the announcement back to Wednesday, Sept. 4. So the wait was on and the speculation about which high-profile SEC program would receive the commitment of the nation's most highly coveted offensive lineman spiked to even greater levels than before.
Would it be LSU? Would it be Alabama?
On Wednesday at 12:30 p.m., live on ESPNU, Robinson answered the questions and ended the speculation, as he announced his college decision from the fieldhouse at West Monroe High School.
And with that it was known Robinson was headed to Tuscaloosa to be the 20th commitment of Nick Saban's 2014 recruiting class and the first five-star.

It had been known from early in Robinson's recruiting process that the battle would be waged between the two SEC titans. For months he had been down to the Crimson Tide and the Tigers, and speculation had been all over the place.
One week LSU would have the edge, then the next the tide would swing in Alabama's favor. Both received several unofficial visits. Robinson took in practices, went to camps, attended junior days and spring games. He became familiar with Les Miles and Baton Rouge, and he did the same with Saban and Tuscaloosa.
Everywhere he turned, the questions were there. Twitter, Facebook, the school lunchroom, people wanted to know. Which school would he choose? Where would he play his college ball?
Heading into the announcement, the momentum appeared to be firmly behind Alabama. Robinson's most recent visit was to Tuscaloosa, and one of his childhood friends, Monroe (La.) Ouachita Parish Rivals250 presented by Under Armour wide receiver Cameron Sims, committed to the Crimson Tide on Aug. 24. Still, Robinson remained quiet until the time was right.
Robinson, who plans to graduate in December and enroll at Alabama after playing in the Under Armour All-America Game, joins an offensive line class that includes Rivals100 presented by Under Armour members Viane Talamaivao (No. 97) and Ross Pierschbacher (No. 88); the nation's No. 1 center prospect, J.C. Hassenauer; JUCO four-star Dominick Jackson and three-star offensive guard Montel McBride.
