Five-star back from Oregon

Caleb Kelly had an excellent visit to Oregon this past weekend and even though the Ducks lost again they're definitely in contention for the five-star linebacker.
The Fresno (Calif.) Clovis West standout said he thought the game-day environment really stood out even though it was rainy.

"It was cool," Kelly said. "It was very beautiful there.
"It was really fun. The game was fun but I didn't stay out in that rain. We went in at halftime and I was eating and it just started pouring. I said I was good right there. It was intense.
"It was pretty loud in there. It wasn't crazy loud like Michigan but there were 109,000 people there. The stadium was packed. Even with them struggling a little bit they had a lot of fans out in the rain and it was cool."
Kelly, who still has official visit plans to Oklahoma and Notre Dame and it looks like he could see Alabama as well, had some important conversations with the Oregon coaches.
Their pitch: The five-star is absolutely needed in Eugene.
"They were saying, 'We need you,'" Kelly said. "'We said that before to players but we really mean it. We've always had one or two guys that have been leaders for the last five years and now they've all graduated or in the NFL.' They said we need me to come in early and be a leader.
"I will keep considering them and see how it goes with everything else, with the next two visits and then I might go to Alabama against LSU."
The Fresno Clovis West recruit had considered a trip to Texas but that no longer seems like it will happen. Instead, Kelly could head to Tuscaloosa for his fifth visit.
"They've been talking to me still," Kelly said. "Alabama speaks for itself."
