The 6-foot-3, 260-pound standout holds offers from both the in-state Razorbacks and Ole Miss, with interest coming in from the likes of Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Alabama, and Nebraska.
It is still early in the recruiting process, but he does have an early top five.
"My top five would be Arkansas, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, and Arkansas State," Dean said. "(It's) just the relationships I have with some of the coaches and former players. I know two guys who are from Arkansas and played d-line at Oklahoma State. Arkansas State had a defensive end two years ago who came from my school. Arkansas, there's a lot of guys from my high school who went there and have been All-Americans, so there's history there that is connected back to my hometown."
Dean plans to attend the Arkansas Junior Day, and also plans to take a few other college visits.
"I'm going to take some more visits this summer," Dean said. "Probably back to Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, and Arkansas."
Dean was recognized among the top performers at the Army Combine and he was glad he was able to take in the experience.
"It's very unique. A lot of guys don't get this experience," Dean said. "You have the top athletes in the nation and you're going one-on-one and comparing yourself against the top recruits. It's very special. It's an honor."
Dean is currently ranked No. 6 in the Rivals.com Arkansas Preseason Top 10 for 2015.
