The historic Red River Rivalry between Oklahoma and Texas will take place this weekend at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas.
As the Sooners are the designated home team, they are at liberty to host visitors for the matchup. There is an extensive group of visitors across the 2025, 2026 and 2027 classes set to be in attendance.
Here are five prospect most impacted by the game. All five are set to be in the stadium for the 120th game in the rivalries history.
2027 WIDE RECEIVER BOOBIE FEASTER
The No. 1 ranked wide receiver in the 2027 cycle, Boobie Feaster has both Oklahoma and Texas in his early top group. Feaster has already visited each program and their respective campuses numerous times. While the game and outcome itself will not have a direct correlation for Feaster, the trend of each program are certainly important.
The Longhorns have proven they are of the elite class in the SEC, starting 5-0 and ranked No. 1 in the nation. Oklahoma however is limping a bit, now starting a true-freshman at quarterback and missing their top five options at wide receiver. But if you were to pick a wide receiver coach to try and help recruit the position back up in the future, Oklahoma's Emmitt Jones is among your top options.
Feaster will be playing close attention to each wide receiver unit and coaching staff operates in this game.
2026 DEFENSIVE END KJ FORD
The game at hand likely has more interest towards Oklahoma if you asked Kevin Ford Jr. The Duncanville four-star prospect has visited Norman several times this calendar year and has generated some real buzz with the Sooners. Getting to watch them, and their stout defense, once again can help jolt them up even more in his recruitment.
Texas certainly has their connections at Duncanville, but I'm not sure if we'll see a big pursuit for Ford from the Longhorns as of right now. This gives Oklahoma an opportunity to impress on Saturday and potentially become a clear leader in the race.
2026 OFFENSIVE TACKLE JOHN TURNTINE III
One of the elite offensive tackles will be on hand in Dallas Saturday as John Turntine III will be in attendance. Turntine has had heavy connections to the Longhorns since the early going of his recruitment, so going as an Oklahoma visitors certainly makes him of interest to both programs.
Texas likely is the leader for him, but Oklahoma will have their chance to pick away at that lead. But this will be yet another chance for him to watch the Longhorns live including projected first round pick, offensive tackle Kelvin Banks. Being surrounded by Oklahoma commits and major targets, his interest in the Sooners may grow. But it will be just as easy for him to come away feeling fantastic about the Longhorns once again if they outperform the Sooners.
2027 OFFENSIVE TACKLE BRIAN SWANSON
If you were to put together a list of prospects Oklahoma and Texas will be fighting for the next three years, Brian Swanson would be an early addition to that list. The top-100 2027 tackle earned his Longhorns and Sooners offers within a week of each other this summer following prospect camps at each program. Texas A&M will also be a major piece of the puzzle here, but Oklahoma and Texas are certainly among the early favorites for where he could end up.
He has visited Oklahoma once already this fall, so they appear to be sitting in a positive spot in his recruitment. But like Turntine above and everyone else on this list, he just as easily could be impressed with the Longhorns and their coaches should they dominate how they have been this season.
2026 OFFENSIVE LINEMAN PUPUNGATOA KATOA
The feeling in the recruitment of three-star jumbo offensive lineman Pupungatoa Katoa is that is really a battle between the Sooners and Longhorns. He has visited each program before, Oklahoma more so than Texas.
Katoa has spoken highly of each staff and their offensive coaches. It will be intriguing to get his thoughts after the two match up this weekend.
