Five offers in hand for Patterson

Five scholarship offers have arrived for Mesquite (Texas) North Mesquite wide receiver Daymond Patterson.
Patterson, the 5-foot-8, 165-pounder, had previously added offers from Air Force, Illinois and Rice. The speedy 2008 prospect has added two more and is taking a look at each options carefully.

"Wisconsin offered and then Purdue offered yesterday," Patterson said. "I'm up to five offers right now. Right now, as for favorites, they're all up there. Those would be my top five right now since they're the schools that have offered.
"I'm taking a look at every school to see how it fits me the best."
Patterson says he'll hit the road this summer for visits and also into the fall.
"I'm probably going to visit the schools that have offered at least," Patterson said. "I haven't decided exactly which ones, but I know I'll visit a few of those already."
With his size and ability to play in space, Patterson says coaches like him as an offensive prospect and as a special teams player.
"A lot of schools like me as a receiver and as a return man," Patterson said. "That's pretty much where everybody is looking at me for."
With five offers in hand, other schools could be joining the offer list.
"Minnesota, they're showing a lot of interest, then Colorado State, Utah, and Duke all seem real close too," he said. "I think a few of those schools are supposed to come down this week or early next week for practice."
