Five offers for junior lineman

Consistency is the name of the game for Everett, Mass. offensive tackle John Montelus. That consistency is one reason why Montelus already has five early offers and is on the verge of adding a few more.
"I try to keep everything in perspective so that I can perform consistently," said Montelus.

Not wanting to get overconfident because of the attention he is getting, the 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive tackle is taking it one day at a time and listening to his advisers.
"My mom really likes Boston College because it's close to home and they have great academics," said Montelus. "My relationship with the coaching staff and academics are the two most important factors in my recruitment."
So far Montelus has offers from Boston College, Connecticut, North Carolina State, Syracuse and Virginia, but he is not revealing his favorites.
"I like all of the schools that have offered me," said Montelus. "I'm looking for a school where I can get a good education, with a good atmosphere and great coaching staff."
Many other schools are also interested in Montelus.
"I'm hearing a lot from West Virginia and Rutgers," he said. "I was getting a lot of attention from Penn State, but I'm not considering them any more because of the allegations against their coaches."
Sure to receive more offers, Montelus has his eye on one school in particular.
"I'd like to get an offer from Clemson. I really like the way their offensive line plays."
Montelus has already taken a visit to Boston College and is looking forward to hitting the road once again after the New Year. He is also trying to figure out which combines he will attend this off-season.
