Five offers for Barton

Orlando (Fla.) Lake Highland Prep safety Taylor Barton benefitted from a strong spring that amounted in a good bit of interest in his services.
"I have five offers right now," Barton said. "Illinois, Syracuse, Ball State, Temple, and Elon have offered me."

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound prospect said that all of the schools are interested in him as a strong safety or outside linebacker. He said that nobody has emerged early on amongst the group as a frontrunner.
"I talk with all five of them at least once or twice a week," Barton said. "So the communication has been pretty good with all of them."
Barton intends to hit the road for a few visits in the coming weeks, including a tour of schools that he hopes results in a few new offers.
"I am going to try to go to Illinois next month," Barton said. "I also have camp visits coming up starting next week. I am going to North Carolina, Duke, Wake Forest, and then South Carolina. All of those schools came down during the spring and said they want to see me at a camp, so I may get an offer there."
The Central Florida product also received interest from Florida State and Maryland during the spring.
With regards to making a decision, Barton doesn't intend to rush. He doubts he will narrow down his list of schools prior to the end of the summer.
"I am going to look at them all," Barton said. "Once the summer ends I will know what offers I have and I will start to think about things more. I am probably going to take my official visits before I make any decision."
