Five offers for 2013 lineman

While it is still early in the recruiting process for 2013 offensive lineman Derwin Gray of Washington (D.C.) Dunbar, he has quickly positioned himself as a player to watch over the next year. Currently with five offers, Gray recently hit the road for a couple of camps.
"Recruiting has been great," said Gray, who is 6-foot-5 and 255-pounds. "Me just going to a lot of camps, destroying people, is what is really blowing me up."

Gray picked up his most recent offers from Syracuse and Tennessee State, and they join previous offers from Michigan State, Rutgers and New Mexico.
In June, Gray has attended camps at Maryland and Rutgers. First up were the in-state Terrapins.
"It was really easy because I am a hard worker and I love competition," said Gray. "Just for me to be right in my backyard, I loved it more."
After Maryland, Gray made his way north to Rutgers, which was a return trip after he competed at a Lineman Camp a few weeks ago.
"It went excellent, because for me to return for the second time, I have so much love up there," said Gray. "It really shows that they have love for me. The camp was great. We went 1-on-1's and did some drills just to recap what we learned before, just to keep everything in our minds. Later that day I talked to Coach Schiano and just bonded with one another, and he told me more about Rutgers."
Aside from the five schools who have already offered, Gray has also been receiving increased interest recently from Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan, Duke, LSU, Connecticut, Illinois, UCLA, Buffalo, Virginia Tech and Virginia. He has no further camps or visits scheduled at this time.
Because of his size and frame, Gray is being recruited as both a left tackle and a defensive end. He was asked if he had a preference.
"No, I like both because I work at both positions all the time to train myself," said Gray, who is eager to hit the field this fall. "I'm getting stronger, faster and hitting the camps so that I stay in shape. I'm doing a lot of 1-on-1's with my team to get better so I'm just hungry to get this season back on and to win this championship."
