Though he holds just one offer Rob Trudo already has five schools in mind at the top of his list.
The 6-foot-5, 262-pound defensive end from Farrell, Pa., received an offer from Syracuse last month -- his first -- and other schools are showing a lot of interest.
Last week alone coaches from Penn State, Duke, West Virginia, Syracuse, Akron and Toledo made trips to Farrell Area Senior High School to check Trudo out in person.
"I'm trying to get down to check out Mississippi State the week of May 27," Trudo explained. "Maybe I'll see some of the other schools down south around there since I'm going to visit my grandad in Mississippi.
"As far as camps go I'll probably be at a lot of those ... just the one-day senior camps. I'll probably go to Pitt, West Virginia, Syracuse and probably somewhere down south like North Carolina or Duke."
Since Syracuse offered Trudo the two parties have stayed in touch with one another. Trudo said he called the coaches about two weeks ago and he doesn't hesitate to pick up the phone when he has a question about the recruiting process. That relationship with the coaches, along with the fact that Syracuse has offered, has the Orange in his top five.
"In no particular order my top five would be Syracuse, Ohio State, West Virginia, Boston College and Penn State," he said.
