Fitzpatrick enters season with three offers

Class of 2016 Farmington, Mich., wide receiver Desmond Fitzpatrick is about to start his first season with a new school. He also enters his sophomore year with three Division I scholarship offers.
After impressing on the spring camp and combine circuit, Fitzpatrick made the rounds at college camps this summer. That tour earned him his first three scholarship offers of the process, starting with one from Indiana.

"It was really exciting because that was my first offer," Fitzpatrick said. "I was just really happy I got my first offer as a freshman. The campus was beautiful, everyone was friendly and fun to be around."
The 5-foot-11, 165-pound Fitzpatrick would go on to add offers from Ohio University and Toledo. He also laid the groundwork for potential future offers with camp appearances at Tennessee, Maryland, Ohio State and Old Dominion.
"[Tennessee] Coach Z [Zach Azzanni], the wideouts coach, said he is going to have an eye on me this year," Fitzpatrick said. 'They want to get me down for a game this year also.
"Maryland said they were going to offer me after my game if I do well, and so did Michigan and Michigan State."
Fitzpatrick did not attend camps at either Michigan or Michigan State, but he did make unofficial visits to both in-state Big Ten programs.
"I went on two visits [to Michigan State] and toured the facilities and watched the practices," Fitzpatrick said. "Michigan, I went to the BBQ there for just the '16's. They only invited seven people and I was one of them."
The next trips Fitzpatrick plans to take will be in the fall for games. He expects to be at Michigan on Sept. 7, Illinois on Sept. 14, Michigan State on Oct. 12 and Toledo on Oct. 19.
