Fitzgerald talks about visit to BYU

Mission Viejo (Calif.) wide out Sean Fitzgerald took his official visit to BYU this past weekend. A week ago, the receiver sounded like he was leaning to another school in Utah but the Cougars are looking pretty strong right now.
Fitzgerald, 6-2, 180 pounds is a talented pass catcher who has been making big plays for the Diablos the past two seasons. He caught 28 balls for 620 yards and nine touchdowns this past season and had a standout junior year as well. The receiver missed all the summer camps and combines due to volleyball and the three sport standout also plays on the schools basketball team as well.

"We actually had a game this past Friday so I didn't get to BYU until Saturday," Fitzgerald said. "Nate Meikle was my host and I really had a great time on the visit. I missed out on a few things since I was day late getting up there but the coaches really showed me a lot of love, especially their WR coach, Patrick Higgins.
"They talked to me about how I would fit in with their offense and I really like the direction the team is going. I think I would fit in well in what they're planning to do and I just like the school as a whole because of the church connection.
"I did give some thought to committing but I want to check out Utah first and Coach Mendenhall even encouraged me to take my visit to Utah so I have something to compare BYU to. Right now, both schools feel it's best for me to come in and gray-shirt my first year and then leave on my mission. That way when I come back, I'll have five years to play four."
