Fisher ready to play ball

Richardson (Texas) Pearce running back Parrish Fisher prepares for his final year of high school football while he keeps an eye on the recruiting trail.
“We are getting ready for our season already,” the 5-foot-9, 204-pound Fisher said. “Things are going well. We are having some good practices. I’m excited for the season to get started.”

Fisher has plenty of scholarship offers to ponder already and more may come as the 2003 season progresses. Arizona, Baylor, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, SMU, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Wyoming and Utah are the schools with offers on the table for Rivals.com’s No. 29 rated running back.
“I’m excited about the possibilities,” Fisher said. “But, I’m not really favoring any school right now. Everything is about equal right now. I will pay more attention to this when we get a little more into the recruiting. I really am focusing on our season.”
Fisher is being recruited by the schools as a running back, and he’s looking forward to the season to show his skills. He ran for 1.723 yards and 16 touchdowns as a junior.
“I think I can improve on last year’s numbers,” he said. “I have been working hard this summer in preparation for the season. Now it is time to play.”
Fisher plans on taking his visits after the season is over.
“I’m going to take my five visits when we’re done this fall. I hope to get them all in before making a decision. That way it is fair to all of the schools that I decide to take a look at.”
