First visit makes a big impression on Jones

Etiwanda (Calif.) wide receiver Marvin Jones went in to his official visit with Oregon this past weekend with the Ducks and Cal Bears tied at the top of his list. Well, it now sounds like the Ducks may have inched ahead at this point.
Jones, 6-3, 180 pounds is a big time receiver prospect and a member of the Rivals 100. He has the size and physical make up to make an early impact in college and right now, there are only two schools on the list.

"Oregon was a great visit, it really opened my eyes a lot," Jones said. "It wasn't just the athletic side of things but I liked the school itself a lot. Of course the football facilities were top notch and the indoor turf field is pretty cool.
"The game atmosphere there was crazy. The fans are so dedicated to the team and when I walked in to the stadium, one section of the crowd was chanting my name and telling me to come to Oregon. The crowd was so loud and when they were chanting my name, it lifted my spirits up and made me want to go out there and play.
"I got to know all the players on the team really well too and they accepted me like I was already a part of the team. Javes Lewis was my host and he's a long time friend of the family and that was a big plus.I felt like I fin in with everyone right away.
"Atthis point, I'm really in to Oregon a lot and plan to make my decision a week after my visit to Cal (Oct. 12). I'm not taking any other trips and I'm not looking at anyone else right now. Cal has their work cut out because Oregon was such a good visit but I'm definitely looking forward to that last trip. Then I'll take the next week to compare those two schools and them make my decision."
