First two offers for 2014 WR

Offers are beginning to come in for 2014 wide receiver Freddy Canteen. The speedster from Elkton (Md.) Eastern Christian Academy recently received his first two offers and has seen increased interest from a number of other programs during the last month.
"I have two offers right now, from Rutgers and Hawaii," said the 6-foot-1, 167-pound Canteen. "I've been in contact with Maryland, and UCLA came in the other day. I don't really have any favorites yet. I'm only a sophomore so I'll just wait it out and make a decision next year."

What is Canteen looking for when it comes to his college choice?
"I'm looking for a school with good academics and obviously the football team has to be good," he explained. "Close to home or on the West Coast, it doesn't matter to me. I grew up rooting for USC and Michigan."
Canteen has had a busy offseason with camps and he's not done yet.
"I went to a Nike camp in Baltimore and a few 7-on-7s," Canteen recalled. "I'm not sure about any more camps this summer but I am going to some 7-on-7s. I think I'll be at Maryland, Rutgers, UConn and in Washington D.C. for some 7-on-7 tournaments."
Eastern Christian Academy is poised for a big year with names like Kenny Bigelow, Khaliel Rodgers, David Sills, and others. Canteen can't help but be excited about the schedule for next season.
"We're going to play Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate Academy, Paramus (N.J.) Paramus Catholic and a team from Florida," he said. "I think the national schedule helps us and gets us exposure. If you want to be the best you have to play the best. I've been working out all off-season and it should pay off."
