First SEC offer for 2015 Va. OL

Early offers are no big surprise any more for Matthew Burrell but this one is a little different than the others. The offensive lineman from Fredericksburg (Va.) Chancellor picked up his first SEC offer on Tuesday.
"I got an offer today from South Carolina." Said the 6-foot-5, 265-pound Burrell. "I know they have one of the best defensive players in the country coming back. It's a very good school and very passionate in all sports. It's also a very strong community. Coach Deke Adams contacted my coach and he told my father and I found out that way."

The Gamecocks joined Virginia, Clemson, Virginia Tech , Maryland, North Carolina, Wake Forest and Connecticut as possible destinations for Burrell. Each staff would love to see Burrell on campus sometime this offseason.
"I don't have anything planned yet," he said. "My father and I are still working on visits and that type of stuff. I'm getting ready for the Rivals camp also. I'm in the weight room everyday getting ready for it."
Burrell is hearing from plenty of schools right now but he thinks a few are close to offering.
"Hopefully, Florida, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Rutgers will offer soon," Burrell said. "I'm hearing a lot from them now."
Earlier this week Burrell's teammate Rivals100 offensive lineman Steven Moss committed to Virginia. Does that help the Cavaliers case for Burrell?
"Steven committing to Virginia has no effect on my decision," he explained. "I am very proud and excited for Steven. He's a great friend of mine and when I found out where he was going I was very happy for him."
Burrell will be competing when the Rivals Camp Series Presented by Under Armour hits Richmond.
