First Pac-12 offer big for Holiday

Devin Holiday said his offer from Arizona was a total surprise but the San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills athlete will take it and the Wildcats are being seriously considered in his recruitment.
"I wasn't expecting it," Holiday said this past weekend at the IMG Madden 7-on-7 West Regional.

"I found out my coach was talking to them for me and they really liked my film so they extended me an offer.
"It's my first Pac-12 offer so I'm excited. I was there on a visit to see the campus on my way back from another school and I liked what I saw. The facilities were nice and the field was also cool."
Arizona and Hawaii have offered Holiday, who had a strong showing at cornerback in the IMG tournament in Redondo Beach, Calif., and the three-star said he's looking forward to talking more with the Arizona coaches and taking another trip to Tucson to get a better feel for the program.
"I like what the coach was telling me about them," Holiday said. "All the hype is on the offensive coaches but I'm excited about the defensive coaches and I'm excited to work with them."
Arizona State, Colorado and Washington State continue to show interest in Holiday, who said he wants to take his time before making a commitment.
The Mission Hills standout wants to take some other visits and make sure he's looked at all his options as his recruitment continues.
"I'm not ready yet," Holiday said. "I just want to see my options and see what the schools are like."
