First offer on way for Kansas DB

Liberal, Kan., safety Mackenzie Rosel has yet to receive his first offer, but one school is close to making that old news.
“He has nothing official in his hands,” Liberal coach Steve Warner said. “K-State is talking to him awfully seriously. They have talked about him being one they offer. I talked to (K-State recruiting coordinator) Joe Bob Clements about him. All of the defensive coaches want to offer him and I guess Bill Snyder needs to sign off on the offer before they can do it. I would guess it won’t be long before they do offer him.”

While he plays safety for Liberal, the Wildcats are recruiting him to play outside linebacker.
“He plays safety for us, and I think he can make the transition well with his abilities to be a linebacker. He makes his way up to the line during most plays for us anyway.”
The Wildcats are alone in their attention on the 6-foot-2, 200-pounder.
“There is not a lot of other attention from other schools. K-State is really the only one that is recruiting him. Nebraska backed off of him after being on him hard earlier.”
Rosel is the leading tackler on Liberal’s defense this season.
“He is doing real well,” Warner said. “He has 135 tackles so far. There have been seven games where he is over 20, including two games over 25 tackles.”
