First offer is in for DCs Roberts

Offer No. 1 is in for Washington (D.C.) Dunbar cornerback Vance Roberts. The 5-foot-10, 166-pounder pulled the scholarship in the past couple weeks from the Big East.
"Syracuse offered about two weeks ago," he said. "They actually wanted me to come down on a visit.

"I'm relieved about the offer, but at the same time I've got to stay focused. I'm not satisfied with just one."
What does Roberts think of Syracuse?
"I like Syracuse a lot," he said. "However, my brother (2011 recruit Vernard Roberts) is in the back of my head and they didn't offer him. If push comes to shove and we have to separate we will, but our ultimate goal is to play together. We want to play together and share the experience. Syracuse told us they are basically set at the running back position, so more than likely they aren't going to offer."
The 'Cuse aren't the only team intrigued by Roberts though.
"Maryland is interested along with Wake Forest and Virginia Tech. I'm planning to go to Maryland on Monday and then to Wake Forest on the 27th."
According to Roberts, a couple schools sticks out early.
"I like, we like Wake Forest a lot," he said. "I've been in touch with their coach a lot.
"Maryland has really shown the most attention out of everybody. They are sweeping me off my feet. I have a great feeling when I talk to the Maryland coaches and my mom likes them."
Roberts earned first team all-conference and all-state honors as a junior while posting five interceptions, 55 tackles and 12 punt returns for touchdowns.
