First offer is in for 2011 MD backer

Offer No. 1 has come in for Waldorf (Md.) North Point linebacker Conner Crowell. The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder landed the scholarship from the ACC.
"I got an offer last Thursday from Maryland, that's my first offer," he said. "It feels good to get the first one. It's nice to know people want you to play for their team."

What does Crowell think about the Terrapins?
"I don't know a lot about them yet, but it's close to home and it's a school I want to look at. I like their coaches, they are nice guys."
While no other college has offered Crowell, plenty of others are showing interest.
"I'm getting looks from Pittsburgh, Ohio State, Penn State, Virginia, Michigan, Virginia Tech and North Carolina," he said. "I think some of them are close to offering."
Crowell took his first unofficial visit in the past couple weeks to Rutgers.
"I went for a junior day and it was great," he stated. "I loved Rutgers. The facilities are nice and Coach Schiano has the right mindset. I really like the team and their thoughts on the Scarlet Knights."
Crowell plans to take another unofficial this weekend to West Virginia.
Crowell earned all-metro and all-state honors after posting approximately 100 tackles, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, two defensive touchdowns and one punt block. He added eight touchdowns on offense as well.
