First offer has DB Hunsicker excited

Lafayette (Ind.) McCutcheon safety Vince Hunsicker grew up in Big Ten country idolizing the schools in that conference and hoping one day he would have the opportunity to play in that conference.
However, Hunsicker's first offer a couple of weeks ago came from a school in the Big East, though from the same part of the country.

"I actually received my first offer a couple of weeks ago from Cincinnati," Hunsicker said. "They had been talking to me and they said if I perform well at their camp they would most likely offer. I thought I performed really well.
"That was basically my first time on campus and I thought the campus was beautiful. The coaching staff was really upbeat and energetic. It was really a relief for all of that hard work to finally pay off."
Last week Hunsicker visited Purdue, and while the school hasn't offered the Boilermakers are one of his favorites.
"Just from where I've been last summer and through the school year I really like Northwestern. I love the Big Ten. I grew up idolizing Big Ten football. I really like Northwestern and Purdue. I live in Lafayette, Indiana, so Purdue is right here."
Whether those schools will offer the 6-foot-3, 185-pound safety, only time will tell.
This weekend Hunsicker will fly out to the Northeast to visit Brown, Yale and Holy Cross.
Next month he will take trips to Northwestern, Michigan State and Davidson.
