First offer for South Jersey LB

Brandon Bell of Mays Landing (N.J.) Oakcrest has long been considered one of the top junior linebacker prospects in New Jersey. Last week his recruiting process hit the next level as he picked up his first offer from a BCS program.
"Recruiting is going pretty well so far," said Bell, who is 6-foot-2 and 220-pounds. "I got my first offer from Northwestern last Wednesday."

Now with his first one behind him, Bell is hoping to add to the total.
"It felt really good to get the offer," said Bell. "Hopefully a couple more roll in. I'm hearing a lot from Maryland, and I went to their Junior Day on Saturday, and also Rutgers and Boston College."
Bell shared his thoughts on his recent Maryland Junior Day experience.
"It went very well," he said. "We got to speak with their Linebacker Coach and they made sure they saw my tape."
Bell also discussed his thoughts on his first offer from Northwestern.
"I know that it's a great school when it comes to academics," said Bell. "I haven't talked to the coaches yet, but they told me that they would be in touch soon."
No further visits are solidified on his schedule yet, but he does have a few plans for the summer.
"I definitely plan on hitting up some camps," said Bell. "I'll be going to Alabama's Camp, Maryland's, Rutgers and maybe a couple more."
